Adrian Teal

Fine-art caricature · Originals & limited editions

Familiar faces. A wonderfully different way of seeing them.

The musician whose records you wore out. The film you still quote. The comedian who makes you laugh before they say a word. Adrian Teal turns those personal connections into art with wit, character and an extraordinary eye for a face.

His career reaches far beyond the gallery wall. He has designed caricature puppets for Spitting Image, led 3D celebrity caricature design for ITV’s Big Heads and contributed illustrations to QI. Here, that same gift for finding a personality in a face comes to life in original canvases and limited-edition giclée prints.

Start with a favourite character, then look closer: an expression, a prop or a small detail often supplies the second smile. Our selection moves from music and classic comedy to cult cinema, with pieces for a listening room, study or a corner that deserves something unmistakably you.

From British television to American recognition

Alongside his art, Adrian creates illustrated nonfiction with Lindsey Fitzharris. Their book Plague-Busters! received a 2024 Grateful American Book Prize honourable mention and was included in the National Science Teaching Association’s 2024 Best STEM Books selection. Their collaboration also includes Dead Ends!, published by Bloomsbury in 2025.

Those are publishing honours for the book, rather than awards for the gallery artworks. They add another dimension to an artist whose work connects observation, storytelling and humour.

Choosing your Adrian Teal artwork

An original canvas is an individual painting; a limited-edition giclée is a print produced within a stated edition. An artist’s proof is a separate proof designation, not an original painting. Check each listing for its size and edition details, and ask us if you would like a closer photograph or advice on framing.
