Jako van der Walt
Jako van der Walt · Ceramics from Market Harborough
Quiet shapes. Glazes worth looking at twice.
There is something satisfying about a well-balanced vessel: the curve of its rim, the way it sits in the hand, the changing colour across its surface. Jako van der Walt’s wheel-thrown ceramics begin with that pleasure in simple, symmetrical form.
Working in small batches in Market Harborough, Jako began his journey with clay in 2023. His Northants & Rutland Open Studios profile describes an immediate attraction to the potter’s wheel and the shapes it makes possible. He is also part of the team at The Clay Collective, where he is listed as a throwing facilitator.
At Primrose, his ceramics offer a calm counterpoint to a colourful painting or a richly textured shelf. Let one vessel stand on its own, or compare heights and profiles to find a pairing that feels right for your home.
